MBABANE -With anticipation simmering nationwide, Eswatini stands just 90 minutes away from discovering its next continental representatives in a final steeped in history and ambition.

The stage is set for a defining afternoon in the kingdom’s football calendar as the Ingwenyama Cup final takes centre stage on May 3, 2026 at Somhlolo National Stadium.

Traditional giants Green Mamba will lock horns with first-time finalists Nsingizini Hotspurs in a clash that promises both heritage and fresh narrative. While Inyok’eluhlazane return for their third appearance in the showpiece, Insingizi Yezulu arrive as the competition’s romantic story; untested at this stage but brimming with belief.

Beyond silverware, the stakes could scarcely be higher. The winners will secure Eswatini’s ticket to the prestigious TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup, placing continental football within touching distance.

The Ingwenyama Cup, widely regarded as the country’s premier knockout tournament, continues to distinguish itself through its seamless fusion of football and cultural celebration — a spectacle that resonates far beyond national borders.

There is also significant financial incentive. The champions will pocket a lucrative E1.45 million prize, courtesy of sponsors Sincephetelo Motor Vehicle Accidents Fund (SMVAF), adding further edge to an already high-stakes encounter.

For Bongani Mhlongo’s troops, experience could prove decisive as they seek to assert their pedigree on a familiar stage. For South African tactician Mandla Qhogi and Amazulu loanee Sizwe ‘Mbhobho’ Ndlovu however, this is a moment to disrupt the script and carve their name into history.

Come kick-off, 90 minutes will separate one side from glory — and from carrying Eswatini’s flag onto the continental stage.
