Waffles bags historic residency at world’s #1 Club

MBABANE – Eswatini-born DJ Uncle Waffles is set to headline a major Ibiza residency, showcasing Amapiano’s global rise.

 Eswatini’s very own Uncle Waffles is among the leading names in a powerful new summer residency at Hï Ibiza, signalling a major moment not only for her career but for the global spread of Amapiano music.

The internationally-acclaimed DJ will join a star-studded line-up curated by Grammy-winning South African producer Black Coffee. The residency is scheduled to run every Saturday from May 2, 2026 to October 3, 2026, bringing together some of the biggest names in Electronic music and African Dance sounds.

Uncle Waffles’ inclusion as one of the standout acts reflects her rapid rise within the global music industry. Known for her energetic performances and magnetic stage presence, she has become one of the most recognisable faces of Amapiano, a genre that originated in South Africa and has since taken the world by storm.

The line-up also features key South African Amapiano pioneers, including DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small, both of whom have played a crucial role in shaping and exporting the genre internationally. Their participation reinforces the residency’s strong African identity. Adding further diversity to the programme is British artist Skepta, who will take over the club room, blending Hip Hop and Electronic influences into the overall experience.

The event is particularly significant for South Africa’s Amapiano DJs, as it provides a global platform to showcase their talents to international audiences. Ibiza, long regarded as the epicentre of Electronic Dance music, offers unparalleled exposure, and this residency positions Amapiano firmly within that global conversation.
