Eswatini to receive first ever motor museum

This year’s Eswatini International Trade Fair spotlights Eswatini Motor Museum, which has unveiled the country’s very first motor museum.

Enthusiasts and historians alike can anticipate a remarkable showcase of automotive heritage. Nestled in the heart of the kingdom, Eswatini Motor Museum is the kingdom’s pride in vintage motoring. The museum will soon showcase a rare collection of vintage, luxury and historic automotives such as the 1983 Rolls-Royce Silver Bullet, Rolls-Royce Phantom, Jaguar, BMW and others. For the first time, emaSwati will have the opportunity to visit the museum and be able to learn about the historic milestones of the various collection of vintage and luxurious cars they will have in their showroom. For now, you can visit the team at the Fair, where they are displaying the following cars:

Rolls-Royce Phantom (2004 model)

The 2004 Rolls-Royce Phantom features a 6.75L V12 engine producing 338kW and 720Nm, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. Key specifications include a 5834mm length, a 3570mm wheelbase and a curb weight of around 2427kg. Notable features include a power reserve dial instead of a tachometer, hidden navigation, integrated umbrella and ‘coach doors’.

Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit (1983 model)

The 1983 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit features a 6.8L (6750cc) leaded petrol V8 engine, a 3-speed automatic transmission and a body style of a four-door sedan. Dimensions are approximately 5 270mm long, 1 890mm wide and 1 490mm high, with a wheelbase of 3 061mm and a kerb weight of around 2 245 kg. Standard luxury amenities included Connolly leather, polished walnut veneer, air conditioning and electrically operated features.

Smart Roadster (2004 model)

There was no 2024 model year for the Smart Roadster, as the model was produced between 2002 and 2005. The original Smart Roadster featured a 700cc, 3-cylinder turbocharged engine, producing around 80bhp, with models also available in 61bhp and 99bhp (Brabus) variants.

John Cooper Works Mini GP (2021 model)

The 2021 Mini Cooper John Cooper Works (JCW) GP is a 2-door, front-wheel-drive hatchback with a 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine producing 301-306 horsepower. It features an 8-speed automatic transmission, a top speed of 165 mph and a 0-60 mph time of around 5 seconds. Key features include a unique large rear wing, carbon fibre fender add-ons and a focus on track-focused performance
