If you’ve ever watched your Zoom meeting freeze or your favourite show buffer endlessly, Eswatini’s connectivity challenge needs no introduction.
However, there is a new player rewriting the internet story and it’s not just a game-changer, it’s a sky-changer. Meet THOR International, the official Starlink reseller in Eswatini, bringing high-speed internet straight from the stars.
Unlike traditional Internet Service Providers (ISPs) that rely on ground cables and patchy towers along the Mbabane–Manzini corridor, Starlink uses a constellation of over 6 000 low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites hovering just 550 km above Earth. The result? Fast, stable, nationwide coverage from the Lubombo Mountains to Shiselweni’s most remote schools.
How fast is fast? In early 2025, Starlink clocked median download speeds of 86Mbps locally, dwarfing the 13Mbps average of standard ISPs. It’s not just speed, it’s consistency.
With interlinked satellites and local THOR support ensuring 99 per cent uptime, even heavy rains can’t keep Eswatini offline for long.
For homes, this means buffer-free streaming, low-latency gaming and crystal-clear video calls all at around R950 a month.
Families can instal the Gen 3 hardware kit in minutes, transforming rural homesteads into connected hubs of learning, work and play.
For businesses, Starlink’s Priority Plans keep offices, shops and lodges running smoothly, cutting downtime and boosting productivity by up to 30 per cent.
From cloud accounting to guest Wi-Fi, THOR’s clients are proving that good internet is good business.
When it comes to service, THOR delivers like a local legend. Their certified technicians handle installation, activation and support within 48 hours, no tangled cables, no long wait times.
Their Mbabane-based team offers 24/7 assistance, real-time monitoring and warranty-backed replacements to keep you online, always.
As Eswatini strides into the digital age, THOR and Starlink are ensuring no home, office or farm gets left behind.
The future of connectivity isn’t underground, it’s overhead.
