Ever dreamt of building something big from the ground up? Start now and do not waste time.

Two young go-getters have already done it. Simiso Mnisi and Ayabonga Mndzebele turned a casual idea into a thriving local brand called **Ayou**, which continues to gain popularity in the apparel and gifting sector.

Ayou is not just another clothing label. It is a bold statement. The brand specialises in trendy branded T-shirts, caps, hats and hoodies that cater to a growing market of style conscious youth. Yet, their ambition does not end with fashion. Ayou also crafts personalised gift hampers tailored to each customer’s needs, which gives every buyer that thoughtful touch they appreciate.

Mnisi acknowledges the progress they have made although the duo is still pushing to reach the wider audience they envision. He notes that many Gen Z customers form the core of their support which continues to motivate them.

Part of the business ethos is a strong sense of social responsibility. The founders believe that positive habits must be cultivated early, which includes giving back as they grow. This belief shaped their decision to support the upcoming Tiktokers Fest. “We, as Ayou, have contributed or rather helped the Tiktokers Fest taking place on December 6, 2025, in Manzini. We have supported the event and it is the first gig we have ever done,” says Mnisi.

Empowering generation

Why step into the demanding world of entrepreneurship at such a young age? For Mnisi and Mndzebele the answer is simple. “We want to empower youth and make them see that it is possible to do business while young,” says Mnisi. Their venture is driven by purpose. They want to prove that age should never limit ambition.

Although they started small their goals are expansive. The Ayou team is working tirelessly to broaden their reach with a clear mission to open multiple retail outlets across the country. Their ultimate dream is to dominate the clothing industry in Eswatini. Their mantra is powerful. No goal is too small.

Creating a loyal customer base in a competitive market is a challenging task, yet Mnisi and Mndzebele have mastered the discipline of persistence. They understand the importance of visibility and advertise consistently to keep their brand at the forefront of consumers’ minds. For them, every post flyer or conversation is a chance to grow.

The journey of entrepreneurship is never smooth. Mnisi’s advice on navigating challenges reflects the mindset that drives their success.

“It is imperative for a leader to have a positive mindset amid the hurdles.” He encourages young entrepreneurs to see obstacles as opportunities. “Take the hurdles as challenges and let them motivate you to improve your product or service for the better.” When plans fall apart, he says that is when you put on your grit and strive for success.

Unexpected success

What makes their story more compelling is that they never set out to become entrepreneurs. “Honestly we did not see ourselves here because we started jokingly, taking things lightly,” Mnisi recalls. Yet as interest grew the business began to boom.

Their success was not accidental. It was built on effort consistent delivery and a commitment to quality. Their approach to customer loyalty is straightforward. Always deliver on time and deliver excellence.

One of the things to admire about this duo is their determination, they believe ‘difficulties are not meant to discourage you but a reminder to keep put in the extra effort.’

Running a business can be exciting and demanding, which makes motivation essential. For Mnisi, inspiration comes from reading **Forbidden Fortunes** and from faith, which anchors their vision.
