MBABANE – “She bought me my first black coat,” Pastor Bakhe Dlamini said, as he mourned Princess Lindiwe, a mother in the faith.
Pastor Bakhe Dlamini, based in South Africa where he commands a 2.4 million following on Facebook, has paid a deeply moving tribute to Princess Lindiwe, the Minister for Home Affairs and first lady of Jesus Calls Worship Centre (JC).
He recalled the quiet acts of kindness she and her husband, Bishop Dr Robert Kasaro, extended to him over the years.
He recounted that his first encounter with the family dated back to 1999, when, as a young man seeking guidance on his ministry calling, he had walked from Nazarene High School to Helemisi, where Pastor Kasaro and his family then lived.
He said he went there during the lunch hour and without an appointment. He said that although he had arrived unannounced, Mkhokheli, as Princess Lindiwe was then affectionately known, had welcomed him warmly and offered him some juice, describing the meeting with Pastor Kasaro as a great honour. Two years later, he added, he had gone on to join the ministry on a full-time basis.
Pastor Dlamini further recalled that in 2006, while he was studying at Bible College, Apostle Kasaro and Princess Lindiwe had come to collect him and had driven him to Mbabane, where they bought him a suit, shoes, a shirt and a tie, which were items he said he had badly needed at the time.
He also remembered 2010, by which time he was serving at JC as an assistant pastor, saying that upon her return from an international trip, Princess Lindiwe had bought him a fine long black coat, noting that he had never owned one before.
Bidding her a fond farewell, hamba kahle, Nkhosi, he said she would always be remembered for her humble spirit and her love for all. He observed that God’s ways did not make sense, saying that perhaps one day they would understand, but that today nothing made sense.
He extended his deepest condolences to Bishop Kasaro, the children and the entire JC family, praying that during this dark hour the Lord would be their comfort and refuge, and assuring them that they remained in his prayers.
