MBABANE – Johannesburg-based Swati star Zamo Dlamini is expanding her television presence after joining a compelling new reality production on South African channel Moja Love.
Known for her diverse talents as a singer, songwriter, make-up artist and actress, Dlamini will now step into the role of TV presenter to guide families through deeply personal conflicts and complex relationship dynamics.
Dlamini broke the news to her followers on her official TikTok account, posting behind-the-scenes footage while filming on set. In the announcement, she revealed that the new Moja Love series centres on family interventions, specifically focusing on helping families resolve disputes around kukipita (cohabitation before marriage). She invited viewers who require professional help and mediation with their own domestic troubles to reach out to the show’s production team.
Reflecting on this milestone, Dlamini shared that landing the presenting role feels like the fulfilment of a lifelong ambition. Looking back at her humble beginnings in the entertainment industry, including early voiceover work for children’s cartoons such as ‘Mvubu The Hippo’, she noted that hosting a television show was an idea she always held close to her heart, even when she was unsure of when the opportunity would arise. Having felt completely at ease in front of the camera from a very young age, she describes this turning point as living in an answered prayer.
“The show is basically an intervention show assisting families complaining about their loved ones staying together while not married; we come in and sit with them to tell us why they left home. It is interesting for me to be part of this show because I am getting into the psycho-social space, being able to motivate people and sit down with them. I pass on my knowledge as I can and it feels good.”
For Dlamini, entering the social and emotional support space marks an important evolution in her career journey. She believes this opportunity shows that the possibilities for her brand are limitless. Expressing deep gratitude for God’s grace throughout her rising career, Dlamini reflected on how far she has come, simply stating: “This has always been my dream,” she said.
