The battle continues as ‘Bucs’ want court to stop E500k deduction

MBABANE – The legal dispute between Moneni Pirates and Manzini Wanderers has landed back in court.

Moneni Pirates filed an urgent application to prevent the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) from deducting E500 000 from their funds.

According to sources, the matter was heard on Thursday before Judge Mlangeni. This latest development follows an urgent motion filed by Moneni Pirates on July 2, 2025, which Wanderers won.

Pirates had sought to halt a garnishee notice and writ of execution that Wanderers had filed with the PLE. Now, Pirates are once again asking the High Court to stop the PLE from executing the garnishee notice, claiming that if the deduction is allowed, their funds will be consumed by Wanderers, who they believe are not legally entitled to the money.

Represented by Osborne Nzima, Moneni Pirates stated in court papers that the matter is urgent because the garnishees are already in place and were ‘illicitly and conveniently’ served on the PLE, to the detriment and prejudice of Pirates.
