MBABANE – Consumers will get a rare chance to experience the best of Eswatini-made products under one roof on May 1, when a free public showcase brings together local brands ranging from bottled water, dairy products, fashion, food and beverages at Pink Lotus in Mbabane.

The upcoming event, announced during Thursday’s official venue launch led by Chairman Melusi Dlamini, joined by Princess Sakhisizwe and Mbabane Mayor Thulani Mkhonta, is being positioned as a major boost for local producers seeking stronger visibility in the domestic market. With free entry and free parking, organisers are aiming to attract families, shoppers, entrepreneurs and supporters of the Buy Local movement.

Dlamini said the showcase is intended to create a direct meeting point between producers and consumers, allowing local businesses to not only display their goods, but also build trust and loyalty with the public. The exhibition is expected to feature established home-grown names such as Emlembe Water, Viva Water and Viva Yoghurt, alongside other Eswatini-made products.

The announcement drew support from Princess Sakhizwe and Mbabane Mayor Thulani Mkhonta, both of whom attended the launch in a show of confidence for local enterprise and national brand development.

While the venue was officially unveiled on April16, the bigger public interest now centres on the May 1, 2026 exhibition, which is expected to serve as both a shopping experience and a celebration of Eswatini’s manufacturing strength.

By making the event accessible at no cost, organisers hope to encourage ordinary consumers to discover the quality and diversity of goods produced locally, while giving brands an opportunity to connect with a wider market.

The  May 1, 2026 showcase is expected to become an important platform for promoting self-sufficiency, supporting local jobs and keeping consumer spending within the country, all while turning Pink Lotus into a recognisable home for local business exhibitions.
