Motorsport lovers and thrill-seekers are in for an electrifying weekend as the second annual Hakuna Matata Spin Fest roars back into action this Saturday at the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre. With engines revving and tyres ready to meet the tarmac, this year’s edition promises even bigger stunts, louder cheers and unforgettable moments.

True to its name, Hakuna Matata, meaning ‘no worries’, the festival is all about letting loose and enjoying the raw excitement of spinning culture. Make no mistake, there is nothing casual about the skill on display. This is precision driving at its finest, where control, timing and daring come together in clouds of smoke and roaring applause.

Headlining this year’s festival is South African spinning sensation Austin Kruger, a crowd favourite known for his fearless style and unmatched control behind the wheel. Kruger’s presence is expected to elevate the competition, as fans eagerly anticipate jaw-dropping performances that push both machine and driver to the limit.

From midday until late, spectators can expect a full-throttle experience featuring some of the region’s most talented spinners. Each driver will bring their unique flair to the arena, turning the track into a stage of artistry and adrenaline. The smell of burning rubber, the screech of tyres and the rhythm of revving engines will set the tone for a festival that is as much about entertainment as it is about skill.

Adding to the excitement, organisers have introduced a thrilling incentive for early supporters. A lucky attendee will stand a chance to win a newly-built spin car simply through purchasing a Hakuna Matata Spin Fest ticket, which is sold at E120.  However, only tickets purchased on or before March 21, 2026, qualify for the spin-car draw. Tickets bought after this date will not be eligible, making early buyers the ones in the running for this high-octane prize.

Beyond the spinning action, the event will offer a vibrant atmosphere, perfect for families and friends. With designated areas such as cooler boxes allowed, food vendors and a buzzing crowd, the Spin Fest is shaping up to be more than just a motorsport event, it’s a lifestyle experience.

Organisers have promised a safer, more structured event this year, building on the success of the inaugural edition. With growing interest and support, the Hakuna Matata Spin Fest continues to cement itself as one of the most exciting events on the local entertainment calendar.
