MANZINI – MTN Premier League outfit Moneni Pirates President Thulani Xaba has assured supporters that he will not quit until the club wins silverware.

Xaba made his intentions clear on the sidelines of a high-stakes club meeting, stating firmly: “I’m staying until Bucs win trophies. I will not step down until the club wins silverware.”

Addressing the ‘Mabhakaniya’ faithful, the president emphasised that the club’s current trajectory demands absolute commitment.

“Today is not merely a meeting; it is a gathering of people who carry the hopes, dreams, history and future of this football club. When I accepted the responsibility of leading this club, I made a promise that we would not settle for mediocrity, that we would restore belief, pride and the glory days,” Xaba said.

To spearhead this drive, Xaba unveiled a new-look management committee (MC) for the 2026/2027 season, led by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sibusiso Hlanze. He also announced the appointment of South African tactician and former Mbabane Highlanders Coach Selaotse ‘Sly’ Mosala as the new head coach on a two-year contract.

“The club has entrusted ‘Sir Sly’ with one of the most important responsibilities within our football structure,” Xaba announced. “We have brought him here because we believe in his ability, experience and vision. Successful seasons are built long before the first whistle of the league campaign.”

In a major development for the fanbase, the president issued a strict 14-day directive for supporters to elect a national supporters committee (NSC).

“We want a supporters’ structure that is accountable and representative,” Xaba commanded. He also confirmed that the club will officially introduce new authentic replica jerseys, adding: “We want our supporters not only to sound like Pirates, but to look like Pirates as well.”

Concluding his address, Xaba thanked the Board of Directors, sponsors and players, stressing that success require absolute synergy.

“The glory days of Moneni Pirates will not return because we talk about them. They will return because we work for them. Let us unite behind this badge,” Xaba declared.
