Piggs Peak has officially joined the list of towns benefitting from one of Eswatini’s most ambitious and proudly local agri-business brands, Embiveni. The company, renowned for its premium meat and processed products, has opened its newest mini market in the northern town, which has been hailed a milestone in its national expansion strategy and creating immediate opportunities for local employment.

The mini market, which began operating, becomes Embiveni’s northernmost branch and the second after Mbabane Meat Plaza in the Hhohho region. It not only delivers a variety of high-quality meat products to the community but also brings His Majesty King Mswati III’s vision of First World status closer to reality.

Managing Director Phindile Matsebula, speaking at the official opening, described the expansion into Piggs Peak as a moment of pride, declaring that the company’s vision goes beyond business, but it’s about aligning with national transformation. “We are not here just to sell meat. We are here because we believe in the bigger picture which is His Majesty’s vision of an Eswatini that is self-reliant, food secure, economically progressive and globally competitive,” she said. “Embiveni is proud to play a part in building that First World Eswatini, one shop, one job, one kilogram at a time.”

Matsebula paid tribute to the leadership that continues to inspire the company’s forward momentum. “We are driven by the ambition and guidance of Inyatsi Group Holdings Executive Chairman, Michello Shakantu. His vision, discipline, and passion for African excellence have been a blueprint for how we move as Embiveni.”

The new mini market has opened direct employment opportunities for over ten emaSwati, with more indirect jobs expected as local suppliers, transporters, and service providers plug into the growing supply chain. Matsebula said this is only the beginning. “This shop is a seed,” she said. “And we believe it will grow into a vital node in the north—serving communities, strengthening food systems, and lifting livelihoods.”

Embiveni Marketing Officer Ntsiki Dlamini explained that Piggs Peak was selected deliberately as the next site of expansion. “This is not random,” Dlamini said. “We’ve looked at population growth, customer feedback, and the importance of equitable access to good food. Piggs Peak was always going to be next.”

Dlamini described the shop as “a First World mini meat market,” explaining that the brand’s expansion strategy remains firmly rooted in the long-term ambition of becoming Africa’s leading meat brand. “Our vision is clear; we want to be Africa’s leading meat supplier. That means every town, every corner of Eswatini, must eventually have access to the same quality our export clients enjoy.”

She emphasised that the quality of Embiveni’s products is unmatched and meticulously maintained. “Every liSwati deserves tested meat. Our products are 100% free from measles and foot-and-mouth disease. Quality control is not optional but it is standard.”

The Piggs Peak store offers a wide range of products, from processed meats to beef, chicken, and pork. “We even supply pork,” Dlamini noted. “And we are proud to say, without fear, that we produce the best pork in the world.”

She added that although Embiveni has a strong export orientation, emaSwati remain a top priority. “Yes, our business is export,” she said, “but emaSwati are our foundation. They are our first market, our biggest support, and our greatest responsibility. This new shop is for them.”
