MANZINI – Eswatini international and Richards Bay forward want-away Justice ‘Figa’ Figuareido’s headache is far from over, if reports are anything to go by.

Reports suggest Richards Bay have put a mouth-watering price tag of E2 million price tag on their highly-rated player to Chippa United.

It is alleged that there was an agreement between these two teams to pay the money in installments. Nevertheless, Chippa reportedly delayed to make the first payment. It was reliably gathered that there might be further delay as Figuareido would need to sort out his work permit. Research suggests that when a foreign player moves to another team their permit automatically expires. They then have to start afresh and apply for another one under the new team.

A well-informed source at Chippa United shared that the team will ensure Figuareido puts pen to paper before their first game this coming season. Chippa’s first game is against Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN 8 quarter-finals on August 9.

“These guys have obviously been a bit difficult and they are holding on to the clearance. But we will pay and this will be resolved before the first game,” the source said.

Notably, Figuareido is valued around E9 million. This is as per latest figures from transfermarkt.com, a renowned European site that has footballing information, such as scores, results, statistics, transfer news and fixtures. When Figuareido first joined Maritzburg United in 2018, his market value was a modest E1 million. It gradually increased to E2.4 million in January 2019.

Transfermarkt.com has gained recognition in the football industry for its database of clubs and players worldwide. With over 1.5 million football matches and 760 000 player profiles, their valuations are considered the industry benchmark by many agents and clubs. It has become a primary resource for clubs when scouting and signing players.
