MBABANE – They have engaged another gear!
Former Mbabane Swallows midfield maestro Banele ‘Pupu’ Sikhondze and his top agent, Alimasi Bin Saleh, have reportedly escalated a dispute with his Tanzanian club, Tabora United, to the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).
A source close to the matter revealed that the decision was made after Tabora United allegedly breached their contractual agreements with the player. The source also stated that a copy of the letter to FIFA has been sent to the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) and the Tanzanian Football Federation (TFF).
“They want FIFA to intervene in the player’s issues with Tabora, as he has a year left in his contract,” the source said.
‘Pupu’s agent, Adebayo, confirmed they had taken the matter to the football bodies because the club had breached the player’s two-year contract. “We are sorting something with CAS,” he said, referring to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. CAS is the primary body for resolving sports-related disputes, offering a neutral forum for athletes, clubs, federations and other sports entities. It typically handles disputes through one of two main procedures: Arbitration or mediation.
