MBABANE – The Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Eswatini, Felicia Dlamini, has urged young economists, policymakers and institutions to place women at the centre of the country’s economic transformation.
Dlamini stressed that gender equality is not only a moral imperative, but a key driver of sustainable growth.
Speaking at the University of Eswatini (UNESWA) Economics Society Mentorship Launch last Friday, the deputy governor said women’s contributions to Eswatini’s economy have for too long gone unseen, despite their central role in farming, trading, entrepreneurship and household economic management.
“A truly strong, creative and lasting economy cannot be built without the full and active participation of women. This is not just fairness, it is a fundamental economic truth,” she stated.
The mentorship launch was held under the theme ‘Trailblazers in Economics: Driving Innovation and a Sustainable Future.’
