MANZINI – Two games into the new season, Mbabane Highlanders find themselves on the wrong side of the law.

The ‘Black Bull’  are to pay a summary fine of E20 000 after using a wrong entry point during halftime of their last league outing. The black and white ensemble are fresh from a 2-0 win over hoodoo side Manzini Sea Birds in week two of the MTN Premier League. The fixture played at Mavuso Sports Centre this past Saturday was not without drama, with Highlanders opting to return for the second half using the cars’ gate instead of the tunnels, much against the rules.

As per Article 20.3 (c) of Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Rules and Regulations, such a move attracts a summary fine of up to E20 000. This means this penalty is to be paid on the spot without appearing before a disciplinary committee.

“Entering the field of play from an entrance other than the official entrance/tunnel is punishable with a summary fine of E20 000,” reads the article in part.

Notably, both teams abandoned the tunnels and completed their half-time team talks at the technical area.
