MBABANE – The Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Stanley Dlamini has confirmed that the National Gospel Awards will proceed.
This is despite legal action taken by the Association of Christian Artists of Eswatini (ACAESWA).
ACAESWA has filed an urgent court application appealing against the association being allegedly illegally banned from involvement. According to a copy of a certificate of urgency in possession of this publication, ENCAC is interdicted from rolling out any plans concerning the upcoming awards prior to consultation or involvement of the applicant, ACAESWA.
When asked by this publication if the awards would continue after ACAESWA took the matter to court, Dlamini was unequivocal. “Yes, the awards will go ahead,” he said. The Eswatini National Gospel Music Awards are officially set to illuminate the industry on November 29, 2025.
Dlamini further revealed that ENCAC will host a press conference sometime this week, where they will officially deliver updates after the recent court proceedings. “We will have a press conference this week to clarify the court matter,” he said.
