MBABANE – Former Miss Teen Hhohho 2024/25 Siniketiwe Maseko who was selected for the Miss Teen Africa pageant is hopeful to bring the title home.

The 18-year-old model from Mvutjini is hopeful to bring pride to Eswatini, as she prepares to represent the nation at the prestigious Miss Teen Africa pageant grand finale in South Africa. The finale took place yesterday till the wee hours of today.

Crowned Miss Teen Hhohho Queen for 2024/2025, Maseko’s journey is a compelling story of resilience, ambition and the power of dreams. Expressing her excitement and gratitude, Maseko shared: “I’m so honoured to represent Eswatini at an international level, especially in one of the famous pageants like Miss Teen Africa. I’m so glad that through my hard work, I finally fulfilled one of my dreams,” she said.  The teen beauty believes that her personal values and qualities align perfectly with the ethos of the Miss Teen Africa pageant. “I think Eswatini should expect nothing but the best from me. I promise to keep good character and good leadership skills throughout the whole pageant,” she asserted, emphasising her commitment to representing her country with dignity and integrity.

For Maseko, pageantry is more than just a competition, it is a platform for empowerment and transformation. “Such platforms mean a dream come true to me, as I love pageantry and I’m looking forward to other pageants to come,” she said. Her journey, however, has not been without challenges. Coming from humble beginnings, Siniketiwe faced numerous obstacles, including financial hardships that threatened to derail her education.

“My goal is not only to create a better life for myself, but to inspire and touch the hearts of many, particularly the youth.

Having come from humble beginnings, from being that one girl deemed to be disadvantaged in my group of friends, to needing to have my high school tuition funded, as well as carrying the weight of uncertainty regarding funding for my further education, these are just a few of the many struggles I have  faced,” she publicised.

Despite these hurdles, her perseverance never wavered. She found solace in pageantry, even when faced with criticism that it might interfere with her studies. “I faced a lot of backlash for partaking in pageantry as it would ‘interfere with my studies’. Nonetheless, through hard work and dedication, I proved to flourish in both,” she explained.
