On Saturday, August 2, 2025, the Royal Eswatini Corporation (RESCorp) held a captivating auction at their Livestock
and Game offices (Iysis) at Tjaneni, with attendees clearing the yard of all lots that were on offer. Group Public Affairs Manager
at RESCorp Ishmond Fakudze mentioned that the auction sale over the past weekend went extremely
well. “We managed to sell all 50 animals as planned. In comparison,
last financial year we targeted and sold 100 animals. With only half the number of animals sold this year, we achieved approximately 50 per cent of last year’s revenue, an encouraging outcome that reflects a strong performance,” he shared. The event drew a large attendance and resulted in the seamless transition of ownership of 100 per cent of the 50 lots sold on the day. It is worth mentioning that this is
RESCorp’s annual cattle auction and last year’s auction saw over 100 cattle going under hammer, also recording 100 per cent in
sales. The cattle breeds included in this year’s auction were 50 Brangus and Nguni cows and heifers. Some of the lots on offer were sold as a pair, group of three and a group of four. The impressive sale of the day was a 3-in-1 cow which fetched E29 000 from the lucky bidder.
