Got any health questions? Let’s get interactive

Each week’s health topic will be published in the prior week’s column. You can then send me your health problems and concerns directly via a private email to ensure privacy.

A big word of appreciation to The Times of Eswatini for making this health column possible since 2022.

Thus far, we have been exploring health aspects as guided by the WHO health calendar, which I hope you have benefitted from. However, that’s all about to change. This year will be more interactive with you, the reader. Starting next week, I will be addressing specific health problems as reported by the readers in the form of case studies.

How will this work?

Each week’s health topic will be published in the prior week’s column. You can then send me your health problems and concerns directly via a private email to ensure privacy.

I will then randomly choose one of these emails for a private virtual consultation.

A summary of this health problem and the management thereof will be formulated and published for all to learn from.

Ethics do still apply and thus all personal information will be omitted.

What do you need to do?

You need only follow these easy steps:

Send a test email to talkingtodrt@gmail.com. This is not only to confirm that you are sending your private information to the right email, but also to receive a welcome message which will include a set of questions to help you formulate your health problem.

More is better:  In order for me to best advise you, I will need some background information regarding your health problem. I will also need general personal information, social habits, applicable family medical history, other medical conditions and treatment thereof.

Send your health problem by no later than Friday midday (12pm). Remember to check the health topic published in the previous week’s column.

Await response: All emails will be screened by myself. The health problem for the week will be chosen at random. The chosen reader will then receive further correspondence to arrange for a virtual consultation.

Why this interactive approach?

We tend to understand information better when we approach matters from a practical point of view, i.e. case study. This also aids in a more holistic, body-mind-soul approach.

Health topic for next week:

February 4, marks world cancer day. Be sure to email your related health problems/concerns to talkingtodrt@gmail.com by no later than noon.

Follow The Times of Eswatini (X) and dr.thys (Instagram) for more health hacks. Send queries to ohesmngr@gmail.com.
