MBABANE – It appears that the Joint Negotiations Forum (JNF) did not yield the results that public sectors sector unions (PSUs) expected.
As a result, the PUSs have invited their members to a big meeting scheduled for Monday at the SNAT Centre where they will deliver a report of what transpired at the meeting and seek a mandate and way forward from the mandate.
It has been gathered that during the JNF session, the representatives of the PSUs were unimpressed with what Cabinet has decided as the best way to implement the salary review report.
As a result, the JNF session ended without any agreement reached and is set to be held again next Wednesday.
Speaking on behalf of the PSUs was Swaziland National Association of Teachers (SNAT) Deputy Secretary General Mcolisi Ngcamphalala said for now they will not divulge to the media the details of what transpired at the JNF session as they have to get a mandate from members.
Though not confirming that things did not go as planned at the JNF Negotiations Chamber, the deputy secretary general said the fact that they have called a big meeting is a sign that something serious needs to be discussed.
He said they are inviting civil servants to come in their numbers in order to get to understand the issues related to the salary review.
