EZULWINI – The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Central Bank of Eswatini (CBE) and the Bank of Mozambique (BOM) has begun translating into tangible cooperation.

This follows a technical visit by a Mozambican delegation to the CBE headquarters construction site in Ezulwini last week.

The delegation, comprising construction and infrastructure specialists from the Bank of Mozambique, toured the landmark project as part of ongoing collaboration between the two central banks aimed at strengthening institutional capacity and sharing technical expertise.

They were welcomed by CBE Governor Dr Phil Mnisi, who expressed appreciation for the delegation’s commitment to supporting the successful delivery of the new headquarters.

“Four years from now, after the completion of this project, we all want to look back with pride on the legacy we would have built,” Dr Mnisi said.

He described the headquarters development as a strategic investment for the Central Bank, reflecting its long-term vision, institutional growth, and commitment to operational excellence. The visit formed part of the practical outcomes of the MoU between the two institutions, which seeks to promote cooperation in key areas, including central banking operations, capacity building and knowledge sharing.

During the visit, the delegation also held engagements with CECI, the employer’s representative on the project, as well as Ingcebo Joint Venture, the appointed contractor. The project team provided detailed updates on construction progress, timelines and key milestones achieved to date.
