MBABANE – The Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC) in collaboration with the Eswatini Events Association has launched the Events Calendar for the year.

The launch was organised by the Eswatini Events Managers and Promoters Association (EEMPA) in partnership with ENCAC. The events calendar is designed to provide a comprehensive schedule of cultural and entertainment events taking place in Eswatini. It is expected to assist event planners, promoters and attendees in planning and organising their events for the year.

The calendar features a range of events, including traditional festivals, music concerts and lifestyle events. ENCAC and EEMPA hope that the calendar will contribute to the growth of the country’s creative industries and promote cultural tourism.

The launch of the events calendar is part of ENCAC’s efforts to support the development of arts and culture in Eswatini. The event was officially opened by a legendary musician who is also part of EEMPA, Itallo. He noted that the importance of the event was to reveal the events calendar. ‘‘This is an important calendar as it unveils all the events in the kingdom.’’

The launch was attended by different brand representatives and sectors such as House Musiq Fest, Makoti Festival, Talent Faktory, Ntjilo Ntjilo Arts Festival, MTN Bushfire, Eswatini Farmers Market, Gospel represented by local Gospel musicians Sphiwo Ndoni and many other brands. Most of these representatives highlighted their urge for sponsorship and support for their different sectors

The CEO of ENCAC delivering his speech, mentioned that another issue arising within festivals, is the fact that people host events without the EEMPA knowing about them. “If such issues are not being addressed, the sector will end up collapsing. The industry must regulate itself, EEMPA must create regulations to make sure that their industry is protected. Let us ensure that no intruders come to the industry unannounced. It is important that all shows have the stamp from EEMPA before they are marketed on the different platforms.
