Blxckie humbled by the love from Eswatini

South African Hip Hop sensation, Blxckie was left in awe after performing at the MTN Bushfire Firefly top 10 grand finale.

The Hip hop artist expressed how he was excited by the crowd especially through their sing along with him throughout his performance.

Blxckie also said the Hip hop culture is very much alive, as the youngins are who keep it alive with their vibe. The musician performed after the top three winners were revealed at the grand finale. 

The guest speaker at the finale, Minister for Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, Bongani Nzima lauded the finalists for taking this their talent and making it an opportunity for themselves to grow bigger into the future of Eswatini’s creative industry.

“MTN Bushfire Firefly has grown into more than a competition. It is a national movement that reflects our commitment to nurturing young talent, amplifying voices and creating pathways into the creative economy.

“As government, we recognise that the arts are not merely for entertainment. They are a strategic pillar of national development strengthening national identity, fostering innovation and contributing to economic growth and social cohesion,” he said.

When the moment that the top ten was waiting for had arrived, the fans and finalists all felt nervous as some were waiting an opportunity of a lifetime and the fans ready to scream their lungs out for their favourites.

Mco Jamrock was the first winner to be announced on the stated followed by local trio, Emagagu and last but not least was JAY D. The top three walked away with amazing prizes on the night which include:

  • Samsung Galaxy A37 (E10 000 each)
  • MTN Lula Combo for 12 onths (20GB every month)
  • A performance slot at the MTN Bushfire 2026 Firefly Stage
  • A full tuition scholarship with Limkokwing Eswatini
  • A professionally recorded single and mentorship from Kingdom XLR
  • The top 10 finalists also receive studio time from ENCAC, plus a live podcast capturing their Firefly journey.
