MBABANE – CAF-bound Green Mamba have handed Mthunzi Ginindza a reported one-year contract as head coach.

This marks the return of a familiar face to the club’s technical bench ahead of the 2026/27 season. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ntuthuko Dlamini was quick to state that the content of their employee’s contracts was between him and his employers.

Meanwhile, Ginindza was yet to react on his appointment at the time of compiling this report.

The ambitious Premier League outfit confirmed Ginindza’s appointment in a statement released on its official social media platforms, ending speculation over who would take charge of the side following the departure of Bongani Mhlongo at the expiry of his contract.

Ginindza is no stranger to ‘Inyok’eluhlazana’, having previously served as part of the club’s technical team during the successful era of the late Francis ‘Mkhulu’ Banda. His return is seen as a move to blend continuity with experience as Green Mamba prepare for both domestic competitions and the 2026/27 TotalEnergies Confederation of African Football (CAF) Confederation Cup. He boasts a wealth of experience having led even capital city giants Mbabane Highlanders before his return to Shuni waBolova.

The club described Ginindza as a highly-respected football tactician whose experience, leadership and passion would steer Green Mamba into a new chapter.

“Green Mamba Football Club are delighted to announce the appointment of Mthunzi Ginindza as our new head coach. A highly respected football tactician and former Rangers Head Coach, Ginindza brings a wealth of experience, passion and leadership as he takes charge of the team,” part of their statement read.

The club also appealed to its sponsors, partners and supporters to rally behind the new coach and the team as they pursue success on and off the pitch.
