MBABANE – The Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC) has announced that the award-winning four-member group Tru-Classic has been added to the line-up for Showthemflames.

The event will take place at Hotel Sky in Sandton, South Africa. This addition will see Tru-Classic, known for hits including ‘Makoti’ featuring Mlindo The Vocalist, perform alongside fellow Eswatini talent, the talented songwriter and performer, Young Zesh, on Sunday June 29, from 3pm. This opportunity is as a result of ENCAC following their successful three-day arts summit focused on creating opportunities for the creative industries. According to ENCAC CEO Stanley Dlamini, they had another chance to include an artist in the line-up. “We saw an opportunity to add other artists to the line-up and we picked Tru-Classic to join Young Zesh this coming Sunday to perform in Sandton. They have a similar style of music and the artists lined up in SA are Afro-pop and Soul artists so they fit well with the theme,” Dlamini said.

The Showthemflame event is scheduled ahead of a major studio session for Young Zesh who is set to record the following day in collaboration with Yamke the Eastern Cape Afro Soul female artist. Dlamini Showthemflames Director and Deputy Chairperson of AIRCO commented on the collaboration. “This is going to be an exciting experience for both Yamke and Young Zesh as we believe that collaboration is a new way of growth and also reaching wider audiences,” they said. Young Zesh expressed his excitement about the event and extended an invitation to all emaSwati residing in South Africa. “I invite all emaSwati based in South Africa to come through to Hotel Sky in Sandton to enjoy the Swati performance alongside other South African artists including the talented Aubrey Qwabe Trademark Yamke Mthokozisi DJ Siar Maspila and more,” he said.
