(At the Mbabane Magistrates Court)
MBABANE – The highly-anticipated directorship battle for Mbabane Highlanders was postponed yesterday by Judge Titus Mlangeni.
The legal dispute involves the team’s embattled President, Bheki ‘Rubber’ Simelane, the club’s patrons and newly-unveiled President, Shauwn ‘MaMkhize’ Mkhize. Simelane recently ran to court seeking its intervention to continue being the sole director of the club.
The former Inkunzi’emnyama forward was initially given an 18-month-long contract to run the team by the patrons in April this year assuming the presidency seat and the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Board of Governors (BoGs) membership. His contract was, however, terminated by the patrons a few months into the position, which led to him demanding that he be paid E1 million for the expenses he accrued while running the team. Simelane, through his legal representative, SM Jele Attorneys filed a notice of motion with the High Court last week Friday and the matter was heard before Judge Mlangeni at the Mbabane Magistrates Court yesterday.
It is worth noting that Simelane cited the Chairman of the Board of Patrons, who were represented by Robson Betrams as the first respondent; ‘MaMkhize’ represented by Nkhosingivile Dlamini from Dynasty Inc. Attorneys as the second; and Mbabane Highlanders as the third respondent. The Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) and the Eswatini Football Association were also cited as respondents in the matter.
