MBABANE – Designed for industries that demand reliability and speed, Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) ensures teams stay connected anytime, anywhere, with enterprise-grade security and effortless scalability.

This next-generation communication solution was unveiled by MTN Eswatini during its End-of-Year Business Luncheon, where the telecommunications company reinforced its commitment to driving digital transformation across the country.

Presenting the newly launched solution, MTN Eswatini Executive Head for Enterprise Business Unit Wandile Dlamini said Push-to-Talk over Cellular represents a significant leap from traditional two-way radio systems, offering uninterrupted nationwide communication on MTN’s network.

According to the presentation, MTN’s PoC resolves the persistent challenges faced by organisations that rely on conventional radio communication. PoC modernises communication through a secure platform that leverages existing cellular infrastructure, eliminating the need for physical towers or repeaters.

“This technology combines simplicity with advanced capabilities–  supporting voice, video, messaging and location tracking – all in one device,” Dlamini explained.

MTN’s PoC operates across the country on MTN’s established mobile network, making it suitable for sectors that depend on fast, reliable and coordinated communication.

Dlamini noted that the system is particularly relevant for industries such as transport, logistics, security, construction, utilities and emergency response teams – where real-time communication can enhance coordination and safety.

Industries that rely heavily on operational coordination often face communication bottlenecks, especially when teams operate in remote areas or across large geographic zones.

Traditional radio systems have limitations – including fixed range and high maintenance demands – that are increasingly incompatible with modern operational needs.

The combination of advanced features and rugged device design positions PoC as a practical tool for organisations seeking to modernise communication without major infrastructure investment.

The End-of-Year Business Luncheon brought together corporate leaders, entrepreneurs and government representatives to network and reflect on the year’s developments. The event also served as a platform for MTN to demonstrate its vision of digital partnerships as a catalyst for national development.

Dlamini encouraged organisations to engage with MTN’s Enterprise Business Unit to explore customised deployments of PoC and other digital products.

He said MTN remains ready to support enterprises looking to scale, digitise or modernise operations.
