Get your tongs and marinades ready, Eswatini’s tastiest tradition is back. The 2025 edition of Eswatini’s Biggest Braai was officially launched, and this year it’s not just bigger, it’s bolder, spicier, and more flavourful, thanks to a sizzling E500 000 sponsorship from Robertson’s Spices.
Held on April 28 at Ocean Cuisine in Manzini, the launch event didn’t just bring out the media and dignitaries, it brought out the true spirit of culinary celebration, as ministers, stakeholders, and sponsors gathered not just to talk business but to braai together, bonding over fire, flavour, and community.
The secret ingredient? Flavour that unites
Speaking at the launch, Logico Managing Director Clark Pegg, on behalf of Robertson’s, shared what many home cooks and braai lovers already know: Flavour isn’t just about taste, it’s about connection.
“Nothing embodies the spirit of bringing people together quite like Eswatini’s Biggest Braai,” said Pegg. “And Robertson’s is honoured to spice up this year’s edition, not just with our products, but with purpose.”
As food becomes the heart of every celebration, Robertsons' involvement speaks to a growing trend: culinary experiences that serve a cause. Organised by the Philani Maswati Charity Organisation under the patronage of Her Majesty the Indlovukazi, the event raises funds for vulnerable children and elderly persons in the kingdom.
At the launch, stakeholders grilled premium cuts of meat supplied by Embiveni Meats, whose E350 000 sponsorship includes a feast-worthy 50 per cent in meat donations, enough to excite even the most seasoned grill masters.
While the full menu for the July 26 main event at Mavuso Trade Centre hasn’t been revealed, one thing is clear: Eswatini is in for a flavour-packed celebration. From spiced meats and sizzling sausages to traditional side dishes, the Biggest Braai is more than a cookout, it’s a culinary showcase rooted in local pride and global flavour.
With support from food lovers, corporate sponsors, and royal vision, the 2025 edition promises to be the most delicious fundraiser in the kingdom. So, dust off your grill, stock up on your favourite Robertson’s spice blends, and get ready to fire up the flavour, because this year, Eswatini isn’t just braaiing for fun. It’s braaiing for a cause.
