MBABANE – The Kingdom of Eswatini is preparing to take centre stage in the world of classical music, as it has been named as the host for the upcoming Africa Youth Orchestra Festival (AYOF) 2025.
This prestigious event, a celebration of youthful musical talent and cultural exchange, is set to bring together young musicians from across the continent and beyond for three days of concerts, workshops and collaboration. The event, organised by the Africa Ntjilo Institute of Empowerment Music and Art, is scheduled to run from October 9 to 11 at TLC Events Centre (The Luke Commission) in Sidvokodvo.
The festival is the third edition of the annual event. The festival’s itinerary is packed with activities designed to educate and inspire. The opening day ‘Think tanks’ on October 9 will culminate in the official Opening Concert, where there will be free admission, a busking performance, Swati traditional dances, an international food court and a taekwondo performance.
The second day will be dedicated to education and collaboration, with masterclasses, workshops and presentations for both students and teachers.
