MBABANE – The figures have finally been disclosed.
Government has allocated exactly E350 000 for the inaugural National Netball Talent Search Competition, which will be carried out through the 2025/26 Tinkhundla Talent Search Programme.
The second edition of the programme, which this year will involve soccer and netball, was launched by the Minister for Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, Bongani Nzima, on September 18, 2025 at Esibayeni Lodge.
This year’s edition will see the games played at chiefdom levels in each of the 59 tinkhundla centres in the country, as opposed to regional and national levels like in the previous edition. During the launch, it was revealed that the football tournament was worth E1.18 million, with each inkhundla to be given E20 000.
At the time of the launch, the netball competition package was still being finalised, but the ministry’s second performance report (July to September 2025) has now revealed the official sponsorship package.
