MBABANE – The Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA) is set to invest more than E500 000 in the development of an online booking system for the Mavuso Trade Exhibition and Sports Centre.

This is aimed at modernising event management and improving service delivery for exhibitors and clients.

EIPA has officially issued a request for proposals (RFP) for the procurement of consultancy services to design and implement the system under Tender #9 of 2025/2026, confirming that the project falls within the category of contracts exceeding E500 000.

“This request for proposals (RFP) shall be used to procure consultancy services above E500 000,” reads the tender document. According to the document, the new online booking system will allow users to reserve pavilions, halls and other services at the Mavuso Trade Exhibition and Sports Centre through a user-friendly digital platform.

Clients will also be able to upload proof of payment once their requested space availability has been confirmed, significantly reducing paperwork and manual processes. The system is expected to improve efficiency in the management of exhibitions, conferences, trade fairs and sporting events hosted at Mavuso, which is one of Eswatini’s key national venues for business and commercial exhibitions.

The procurement will be conducted through an open national tender, in line with the Public Procurement Act of 2011 and the Public Procurement Regulations of 2020. Proposals are open to eligible consultants operating in Eswatini. The RFP was issued on December 12, 2025, and interested bidders must submit their sealed proposals by 10am on January 26, 2026 at EIPA’s Mbabane offices.
