Local drama series, ‘Ekhaya’ premiered on SABC 1 last night at 7:30pm, promising drama lovers a fun packed nine week schedule and setting dates with them on their televisions.

On their website, SABC 1 released a media statement that announces the arrival of the Eswatini series. The release stated that ‘Ekhaya’ is a nine-part drama series produced by Eswatini Television and will now broadcast on SABC1 on Sundays at 7:30pm.

“The series introduces Thembinkosi Mthethwa as Mandla Manyatsi, who takes over as the Chief after his father’s death. Gina Khumalo plays Nomathemba, Mandla’s hardworking and strong-willed wife. Fikile Ngobese joins the cast as LaButhelezi, Bongani Kabasa Ngobese joins as Mthunzi Manyatsi and Mathokoza Sibiya as Ndabazezwe Manyatsi,” read the release on their website.

When Mandla, a hotshot lawyer, is forced to move from the city to the village to take over after his late father, the Chief, he battles the local Prophet to keep the community clinic open and save his Mother. His quest opens a can of worms and puts his personal life under unwanted scrutiny.
